Lessons I’ve learned from Cancer: Faith

There are 3 aspects to faith.

Faith in a Higher Power

I want you to have faith in a higher power of some kind, because I think that’s where you take the pressure off yourself. It allows some magic and some miracles to work in your life.  I have no claim on favorites as far as faith but I do think there are higher powers in the universe, so I want you to have faith in something outside of yourself.

Belief or self-confidence in yourself

I would say from a cancer standpoint, if we’re going through cancer treatments we pick the appropriate treatments in the plan and we have to believe in the team, the process, and ourselves in the decision making process.  Let that plan follow itself to fruition, and then assess the results.

Then, move on or make changes from there.

      Faith in what you’re doing

I also think that it’s very important from a burnout standpoint that you have faith in what you’re doing. If you try something for one day and you don’t think it works; I don’t think that’s something where you immediately have to say, Oh, that was horrible, I’m never going to try that again. You have to have a little faith and give things time to work. Have the belief and self confidence in yourself.

Have the self confidence that:

 You’re worth it.

 You’re going to recover.

 You’re going to get better.

And that there’s also a higher power out there helping you as well.

Have a little faith in yourself, in the process, and have a little faith that there’s somebody looking out for you.

Remember, always, always, always burn out recovery is for you. And we’re here to help.
